 IT'S SHARK ATTACK TIME!!!

General Information

Regrettably, but necessarily, and in alignment with our rational and understanding, we have decided that for health and safety reasons to cancel the delivery of fall sports this year.  This includes Flag and Full-Contact Tackle Football.

We know how deeply disappointing this is for the student athletes, coaches and family supporters who were looking forward to playing this season. There is science on COVID-19 that indicates activities with high in-person contact have a great likelihood of broad virus spreading, a circumstance that we are not willing to disregard.

The Coaches and I seek to get back to our pursuits by March of 2021.  To prepare for this we will have small scale tryouts beginning around September 7, 2020, after Labor Day.  What does this mean?  This means we endeavor to begin the process of identifying a group of players who turn 9 and 10 year old, as of July 1, 2021 and want to play competitive regulation tackle football.  We will start tryouts for this group with initial plans of placing some players in a spring flag league.  We anticipate non-mandatory practices one day a month starting March of 2021 to beginning revving up for the 2021 season.  This group will then compete in the fall of 2021, against the best competition in the Nebraska and surrounding State areas.

Finally, as has been in the past, our goal remains to teach and provide instructions on how to play the game of football in a competitive safe way.  This preparation will not only provide our players a positive experience, but ensure they can recognize the many positive attributes from participating in tackle football.

Yours Truly,

NYAA Coaches
